On April 28, 2007, the Nanticoke Watershed Alliance, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, the Town of Vienna and other partnering organizations will host the 12th Annual Nanticoke River Shad Festival on the banks of the Nanticoke in historic Vienna, Maryland.

The event is planned each year to coincide with and celebrate the spring spawning runs of American Shad, thus bringing attention to the species and efforts to restore its population.

The Festival is free and will run from 10am - 4pm in Vienna, Maryland. Events include Nanticoke River boat rides, children's activities & games, raffle, fish toss competition, fish printing, educational exhibits, art & craft exhibits, historical artifacts, a touch tank, and delicious planked shad.

Also we will have live music for adults and kids!
