WILD ABOUT SHAD! NANTICOKE RIVER SHAD FEST GREAT 14th YEAR

Music, Food, and Fun on Vienna’s Riverfront on Saturday, April 25, 2009

The 14th annual Shad Music and Heritage Festival was a resounding success!  The weather was glorious and the turnout was good.  The star of the show, the “planked shad” was delicious and many wished there had been more available!  The entertainment, Bitter Creek, The Good News Tour, the Harriet Tubman Re-enactors with the SPAA Singers and the North Dorchester High School Jazz Band enthralled all with their performances.
The vendors and exhibitors provided a wide variety of information and products which pleased the festival goers.  The Nathan of Dorchester provided rides to showcase our beautiful Nanticoke River which were enjoyed by many!

The festival committee extends heartfelt thanks to all who contributed their financial support to this event: Bank of Delmarva, Hebron Savings Bank, NRG Energy, Friends of the Nanticoke River, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Perdue, and the Town of Vienna. Many thanks, too, to the efforts of the committed volunteers who contributed many hours of planning and work to make this festival the success it was!
