Outreach

The Nanticoke Watershed Alliance participates in several outreach events each year. These events are intended to engage the public with the Nanticoke watershed, create dialog, raise awareness about the river, and celebrate our good fortune of living along this tremendous natural resource.

There are activities for everyone. The Alliance attends several regional festivals, sponsors river clean-ups, speakers, forums, film festivals, workshops, and volunteer opportunities.

In 2007 we hosted a Green Infrastructure conference, a Candidates forum on Growth in Wicomico County, helped sponsor the annual Shad Fest, participated in Earth Day at the Salisbury Zoo and the Woodland Ferry festival in Delaware. We co-sponsored an environmental film festival and a talk by Eben Fodor on growth and sustainability, and held several messaging workshops with the Lowershore Land Trust and American Rivers.

In 2008 we plan to continue this slate of activities. Please check in with us to see what's going on!
